These voices move in parallel, so to speak. The first one comprises an essay that reviews the political, social, and aesthetic coordinates necessary to contextualize the artworks gathered in <em>Off-Register<\/em>. A few of these works have inspired digressions into greater detail, denoted on the page by a change in font. The second voice is created by images, a succession of reproductions that, ordered according to topic and content, build a sequential experience similar to that of the works exhibited in situ. Although these voices advance at independent rhythms within this book, harmony can be found, whenever it is deemed necessary, thanks to the consecutively-numbered image captions that run the full length of this book\u2014from beginning to end\u2014and an Index organized alphabetically according to artist surname.\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The <\/strong><strong><em>Ensayos<\/em> <\/strong><strong>series was launched in late 2021, coinciding with the start of a wide-ranging research project aimed at redefining\u2014from a feminist and, to the extent possible, decolonial perspective\u2014the canon that historiography has established for the artist\u2019s book genre. The aim of this series is to present partial research findings in a variety of printed formats.
