{"id":718,"date":"2019-09-25T11:11:37","date_gmt":"2019-09-25T11:11:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/artfile.es\/2019\/formas-de-accion-posibles-aparador-de-llibres-3\/"},"modified":"2026-03-26T10:10:31","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T10:10:31","slug":"formas-de-accion-posibles-aparador-de-llibres-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artfile.es\/en\/2019\/formas-de-accion-posibles-aparador-de-llibres-3\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Possible Forms of Action&#8221; &#8211; Book Showcase #3"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Early in 2013, I was invited to curate and present <em>Book Showcase #3<\/em>, a selection of books which would be presented in the context of the exhibition <em>Intervened Library<\/em>, for which the curatorial collective Hablar en arte had invite a number of artists to intervene on already existing books, thereby creating one-of-a-kind artist publications. For my part in the project, I decided to look in the opposite direction, choosing for <em>Book Showcase #3<\/em> artist\u2019s publications where the book \u2013 and, by extensi\u00f3n, the library \u2013 had not been conceived as the \u201cresult\u201d of creative work, but rather as a trigger for actions and interventions intended to happen in real space and time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My title was taken from a poster designed by Bra\u00e7o de Ferro (Isabel Carvalho &amp; Pedro Nora, Porto) in 2009, entitled <em>Um livro \u00e9 uma forma de ac\u00e7\u00e3o poss\u00edvel <\/em>[A book is a possible form of action]. This poster, in turn, was based on the artist magazine \u201cNe coupez pas n\u00ba 4\u201d, created by Jean Claude Moineau around 1966.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Book Showcase<\/em> was an ongoing collaborative project between the bookshop Multiplos Books, Barcelona, and the curatorial team DAFO: David Armengol and Jordi Antas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Early in 2013, I was invited to curate and present Book Showcase #3, a selection of books which would be presented in the context of the exhibition Intervened Library, for which the curatorial collective Hablar en arte had invite a number of artists to intervene on already existing books, thereby creating one-of-a-kind artist publications.
